Fix common sign-in problems with the Quickfix AI extension

If you can't sign in to the Quickfix AI extension, it's usually because the sign-in popup is being blocked, you entered the wrong password, or you've reached your device limit. Most sign-in issues can be resolved by checking your popup blocker settings and verifying your credentials.

Check for popup blockers

When you click "Sign In" in the extension, Quickfix opens a popup window to app.quickfix.ai where you enter your credentials. If Chrome is blocking popups, the sign-in window won't open.

Look for a popup blocked icon in your address bar when you click Sign In. If you see one, click it and select "Always allow popups from app.quickfix.ai" to fix the issue permanently.

You can also manually allow popups:

  1. Go to Chrome settings (three dots → Settings)

  2. Search for "popups" in the settings search bar

  3. Click "Site settings" → "Pop-ups and redirects"

  4. Add app.quickfix.ai to the "Allowed to send pop-ups" list

After allowing popups, try signing in again. The popup window should open correctly this time.

Good to know: Some browser extensions like ad blockers can also block the sign-in popup. Temporarily disable ad blockers and try again if allowing popups in Chrome doesn't work.

Verify your email and password

Make sure you're entering the correct email address and password. Check for typos, extra spaces, or autocorrect mistakes. Passwords are case-sensitive, so "Password123" is different from "password123."

If you can't remember your password, click "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page. We'll send you a password reset link by email. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within a few minutes.

If you're trying to use Google sign-in but it's not working, make sure you're already signed in to Google in your browser. Google sign-in works best when you're already using Chrome with your Google account.

Device limit reached

If you're at your device limit, you'll see an error when you try to sign in on a new device. Each plan has a maximum number of devices:

  • Free: 1 active device

  • Pro: 2 active devices

  • Plus: 5 active devices

To sign in on a new device when you're at your limit, you need to remove an old device first. Go to app.quickfix.ai, sign in on the web, and visit the Active Devices page. Remove a device you're not using anymore, then try signing in on your new device again.

Sign-in popup shows "Success" but extension still shows "Sign in required"

Sometimes the sign-in completes successfully in the popup, but the extension doesn't update. This is usually a timing issue.

Close the sign-in popup and wait 5-10 seconds. The extension should detect your new session automatically. If it doesn't update after 10 seconds, close and reopen the extension popup by clicking the Quickfix AI icon again.

If the extension still shows "Sign in required," restart Chrome completely (close all windows and reopen). Then try signing in one more time.

Try these troubleshooting steps

If you're still having trouble signing in, try these steps in order:

  1. Make sure you're using Chrome version 114 or higher (check at chrome://settings/help)

  2. Update the Quickfix AI extension to the latest version at chrome://extensions/

  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again

  4. Disable other extensions temporarily to check for conflicts

  5. Try signing in from incognito mode (Ctrl+Shift+N or Cmd+Shift+N)

  6. Reinstall the extension from the Chrome Web Store

If none of these work, the issue might be with your network or browser configuration.

Network and firewall issues

Some corporate networks or firewalls block connections to app.quickfix.ai. If you're on a work or school network, try signing in from your home network or mobile hotspot to see if that's the issue.

VPNs and proxy servers can also interfere with sign-in. Try temporarily disabling your VPN and signing in again. If that works, you might need to configure your VPN to allow connections to app.quickfix.ai.
