Just installed Quickfix AI but don't see the extension? This is usually a quick fix. Most issues are resolved by refreshing your browser, pinning the extension from your toolbar, or making sure you're using Chrome 114 or higher. Let's walk through the most common solutions.
First things to try
After installing the extension, refresh your browser by pressing Ctrl+R (Windows) or Cmd+R (Mac). Then visit any website with a text field like Reddit or Twitter to see if the Quickfix icon appears.
If you still don't see it, the extension might be installed but hidden. Click the puzzle icon (🧩) at the top-right of Chrome, find Quickfix AI in the list, and click the pin icon next to it. The Quickfix icon should now appear in your toolbar.
Make sure the extension is actually installed. Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome, go to Extensions → Manage Extensions, and look for Quickfix AI in the list. The toggle should be blue (turned on). If you don't see it at all, you'll need to reinstall from the Chrome Web Store.
Chrome version: Quickfix AI requires Chrome 114 or higher. Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome, go to Help → About Google Chrome to check your version. Chrome will update automatically if needed—just restart afterward.
Check your permissions

Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome and go to Extensions → Manage Extensions. Find Quickfix AI and click "Details". Scroll down to "Site access" and make sure it's set to "On all sites".
If it's set to "On click", the extension won't appear automatically.
Disable conflicting extensions
Other extensions like Grammarly or AI writing assistants can sometimes interfere. Go to your extensions page, temporarily turn off other writing extensions, refresh the page, and try again.
Check if you're signed in
The extension requires you to sign in before it works. Click the Quickfix AI icon in your toolbar. If it says "Sign in required", click "Sign in with Quickfix AI" and complete the process.
Last resort: reinstall
If nothing else works, try a clean reinstall:
Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome → Extensions → Manage Extensions
Find Quickfix AI and click "Remove"
Close and restart Chrome
Reinstall from the Chrome Web Store
Pin the extension and sign in
Remember, the extension only works on websites with text fields (like Reddit, Gmail, LinkedIn). It won't appear on browser settings pages or local files.
If you're seeing the icon but it's grayed out, you've likely reached your daily limit or need to sign in—click the toolbar icon to check your status.
