The Quickfix icon appears inside text areas and rich text editors (bottom-right corner) when you click inside them. Quickfix AI works on all websites that have input text fields, text areas, and most popular rich text editors. If you're not seeing the icon, check that you're clicking in a text box and that the extension is enabled in your browser.

Most common reasons

The icon only appears when you click inside a text field. Find a text box (comment box, reply field, email composer, or any input field) and click inside it. The icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the text field.

Quickfix AI works on all websites with text input fields, including Reddit, Twitter, Gmail, LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, Stack Overflow, and thousands of other sites. It won't appear on browser settings pages (chrome://, about://) or local files (file://).

Good to know: Quickfix AI supports standard input fields, text areas, and most popular rich text editors used across the web. If you're using a website with a text field and the icon isn't appearing, there may be a compatibility issue.

The page needs a refresh

After installing or updating the extension, refresh the page (Ctrl+R on Windows or Cmd+R on Mac), then click in a text field again.

Check extension status

Make sure the extension is enabled. Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome, go to Extensions → Manage Extensions, find Quickfix AI in the list, and make sure the toggle is ON (blue).

Check site permissions. Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome, go to Extensions → Manage Extensions, click "Details" under Quickfix AI, scroll to "Site access", and make sure it's set to "On all sites". If it's set to "On click only" or "On specific sites", the icon won't appear automatically.

Pin the extension: Click the puzzle icon (🧩) at the top-right of Chrome, find Quickfix AI in the list, and click the pin icon next to it. Now click the Quickfix icon in your toolbar to check if you're signed in and the extension is working.

Other troubleshooting steps

Make sure you're signed in

The extension requires you to be signed in. Click the Quickfix AI icon in your toolbar. If it says "Sign in required", click "Sign in with Quickfix AI" and complete the process.

Disable conflicting extensions

Other extensions like Grammarly or AI writing assistants can interfere with Quickfix AI. Go to Extensions → Manage Extensions, temporarily disable other writing extensions, refresh the page, and try again.

Reinstall the extension

As a last resort, try a clean reinstall. Go to Extensions → Manage Extensions, find Quickfix AI and click "Remove", restart Chrome, reinstall from the Chrome Web Store, sign in, and test again.
