Seeing "sign in required" means Quickfix AI doesn't recognize you anymore. This happens after a week of not using the extension, if you cleared your browser data, or if you haven't signed in yet. The fix is usually as simple as signing in again.
Common reasons
For security, Quickfix AI requires you to sign in again after 7 days. If you haven't used the extension in over a week, you'll need to sign in again. This is normal and keeps your account secure.
You'll also see this message if you just installed the extension and haven't signed in yet. Or if you manually signed out, removed this device from your account, or cleared your browser's cache and cookies.
If you're signing in on a new device and already have the maximum number of devices active (Free: 2, Pro: 5, Plus: 10), you'll need to remove an old device first.
Sign in to fix it

Click the Quickfix AI icon in your Chrome toolbar (top-right corner)
Click "Sign in with Quickfix AI"
A new tab opens to app.quickfix.ai—sign in with your email or Google account
Wait for the "Success" message, then close the tab

Stuck in a sign-in loop?
Sometimes it says "Success" but the extension still shows "sign in required". If this happens, close all Chrome windows and restart the browser, then try signing in again.
If that doesn't work, you may need to reinstall the extension.
Managing device limits
Each plan has a device limit to prevent account sharing. If you've reached your limit, you can sign out old devices from the web dashboard.

Go to app.quickfix.ai and sign in
Click the Devices tab
Find a device you're not using and click "Sign out"
Sign in on your new device
Once you sign out a device, that device will immediately see "sign in required" and won't be able to generate replies until someone signs in again.
Troubleshooting
If signing in doesn't work, first check that you're using Chrome 114 or higher. Click the three dots at the top-right of Chrome, go to Help → About Google Chrome to check your version and update if needed.
Make sure the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions/ and that "Site access" is set to "On all sites" in the extension details.
As a last resort, try a clean reinstall. Remove Quickfix AI from chrome://extensions/, restart Chrome, reinstall from the Chrome Web Store, and sign in again.
Good to know: If you use the extension regularly, you'll rarely need to sign in. Signing in doesn't count toward your daily usage limit, and it keeps your settings synced across all your devices.
