The "device limit reached" error appears when you try to sign in on a new device but you've already used all your device slots. Each plan allows a specific number of active devices at once. To fix this, remove an old device you're not using anymore, or upgrade to a plan with more device slots.

Understanding device limits

Each Quickfix AI plan has a maximum number of devices that can be signed in at the same time:

  • Free: 1 active device

  • Pro: 2 active devices

  • Plus: 5 active devices

A "device" is each browser where you're signed in. If you use Chrome on your laptop and Chrome on your desktop, that's 2 devices. Using Chrome and Edge on the same computer also counts as 2 devices.

When you try to sign in on a new device and you're already at your limit, Quickfix AI blocks the sign-in and shows the "device limit reached" error.

Good to know: Devices automatically expire after 7 days of inactivity. If you haven't used Quickfix AI on a device for 7 days, it gets removed from your active devices list and frees up a slot.

How to remove an old device

[Screenshot: Active Devices page with Revoke buttons]

  1. Go to app.quickfix.ai and sign in from a device that's already working

  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner

  3. Select "Active Devices" from the menu

  4. Review the list of devices currently signed in

  5. Find a device you're not using anymore

  6. Click the "Sign out" button next to it

  7. Try signing in on your new device again

Removing a device signs it out immediately. You can always sign back in on that device later if you need to, as long as you're under your device limit.

If you don't recognize the devices

Look at the browser type, operating system, and location for each device on the Active Devices page. This helps you identify which devices are yours.

The location shown is approximate based on IP address, so it might show a nearby city instead of your exact location. This is normal, especially if your internet provider routes traffic through a different city.

If you see devices you definitely don't recognize or locations you've never been to, someone else might have access to your account. Revoke all suspicious devices immediately, change your password, and check your email account security.

Upgrading for more devices

If you legitimately need more device slots, upgrade to a higher plan:

  • Upgrade from Free to Pro: Get 2 devices instead of 1

  • Upgrade from Pro to Plus: Get 5 devices instead of 2

Your device limit increases immediately when you upgrade. Any devices that were blocked will be able to sign in as soon as you complete the upgrade.

To upgrade, go to app.quickfix.ai and select "Upgrade Plan" or "Billing." Choose your new plan and complete the payment.

Why you might have more devices than expected

Sometimes you end up with more devices than you think you should have:

Clearing your browser data or cookies creates a new device. The old device stays on your list for 7 days until it automatically expires. During that time, you'll see both the old and new device.

Reinstalling Chrome or the extension also creates a new device. If you recently reinstalled, you might temporarily have duplicate devices for the same computer.

Using multiple browsers on the same computer uses multiple device slots. Each browser counts separately even though they're on the same physical computer.
